F. Barron Grier III

F. Barron Grier III is an “AV” rated trial lawyer with 40 years of litigation experience, following in the tradition of his father, Barron Grier Junior, and his grandfather, Barron Grier Senior. He practices primarily in insurance defense matters. He is also a certified mediator in state and federal courts. His practice focuses on mediation on all types of litigation, except domestic, labor and tax matters. He also reviews and prepares contracts for corporations. He has served on many Bar boards and committees. He was former president of the S.C. Defense Trial Attorneys Association, and 2006 president of American Board of Trial Advocates (S.C. Chapter). He was twice Chairman of South Carolina Bar’s Professional Responsibility Committee; a member South Carolina Bar’s Grievance Committee; and Chairman of South Carolina Bar’s Ethics Committee. He was previously a partner in Nelson, Mullins, Grier & Scarborough (1969-1974) and Richardson, Plowden, Grier & Howser (1974-1996). He founded the Grier Law Firm in 1996 and has added four attorneys who have extensive trial and appellate experience with varying specialties and talents.
